Martin B. Baraga & Tengal: Climax - Stigma
Climax - Stigma
A live cinema event based on Roland Barthes' Lovers' Discourse.
"Most often I am in the very darkness of my desire. I know not what it wants, good itself is evil to me, everything resounds, I live between blows, my head ringing: I am in the shadows."
"How does a love end? - Then it does end? To tell the truth, no one- except for the others- ever knows anything about it; a kind of innocence conceals the end of this thing conceived, asserted, lived according to eternity."
R.B.
CLIMAX- STIGMA is a piece about the dark side of love between two lovers who seek, kill and love one another through a series of episodes. Climax is a live cinema project by Martin Bricelj Baraga and Tengal. Each incarnation of CLIMAX Project is different according to the space where it is performed and its context. Video and music are often prepared few days in advance and therefore are site specific although there is always a basic episodic structure of previous recordings. CLIMAX Phobia was shot in Manila in 2009 and CLIMAX Stigma is shot in Ljubljana and Budapest in 2011.
