SONICA - Festival of Transitory Art 2011

Sonica is conceived as a showcase of the yearly program of MoTA - Museum of Transitory Art. It is an experimental festival, which questions ways of representation, exhibition formats, crossing borders between art and theory, object and performance and in 2010 especially with the virtual and the real. Sonica is a sound and space experiment, an attempt to transform a classical exhibition space into a field of events, performances, workshops and lectures.
Sonica 2011 officially started in Berlin  with pre-event as part of the Berlin Music Week in the frame of ICAS SUITE. This experimental night at West Germany on September 8 showcased transitory artists,  based in Berlin and Ljubljana, that combine sound with lasers, microwaves and various other types of media.

The festival will be opened in Ljubljana by Herman Kolgen with his audio-visual performance Dust.
